Can't get PowerPivot Add-in to load

Hi,
After successfully installing PowerPivot, Excel 2010 refuses to load it. I can see it in the Add-Ins group in Options, but it is always listed as Inactive.
If I go to Manage COM Add-ins, PowerPivot is there, but unchecked. If I check it, and close Excel and restart it, it returns to the Inactive state.
I have looked the Application, Security and System logs through Event Viewer, but I can't find anything regarding Excel inactivating PowerPivot.
In my installation of Office 2010, I did select .NET Programability Support for each product, including Excel.
Any ideas why PowerPivot keeps getting inactivated?

Check if Excel is not in compatibility mode, but I think it you want be in your case. Next link may throw a light on your problem http://powerpivotgeek.com/2010/05/12/powerpivot-for-excel-add-in-is-not-coming-up-in-excel/.

Hi,
I had tried everything except turn the VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS trace flag on. When I did and ran a repair on PowerPivot, it produced an error when Excel was loading. Looking at it, there does not appear to be much that I can gleen from the error message to help me understand why it isn't loading. Has anyone seen this before?

I get the same error,
Runing Windows XP with SP3, 32 bits
.NET 3-5
Office 2010 Professional Plus 32 bitsSuccessfulley installed but then its inactive and cant be activated.
Hope for an solution !

I was getting the same error:
- Windows 7 64 bit
- Excel 2010 32 bit
- PowerPivot 32 bit
Installing the full version of .NET Framework 4 fixed the problem:
