SQL alias

Hello
I have a Windows 2003 R2 server which has SQL 2005 installed on it.
There are custom applications running here as well, which are connecting to different SQL servers, through SQL aliases.
These SQL aliases are on this server as well.
So thing is, that the SQL server is no longer needed and i wish to uninstall it,
but i am afraid this will wipe out the aliases as well. Does it ?
The SQL aliases are important to be left intact.
I know there is a SQL native client built in Windows server, which i think will keep the aliases even if i remove the SQL server, but not sure.
Any hint would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hello RohitGarg, maybe i did not explain it well:
The SQL aliases are used by custom applications running on this server,
and are pointing to different SQL servers on the network.
(I know its a mess but i inherited this :(
So if i remove the SQL server the added SQL aliases will be kept on the machine by SQL native client or no ? What do you think ?
Cheers

If you uninstall only SQL server database engine & keep client tools intact. I do not think it will impact aliases created in SQL client tool.
You can check the same at Start Menu > RUN > cliconfg.exe > Alias Tab

Its done now:
I took a deep breath and removed the SQL server, even with the Workstation Components checked in.
Only the SQL native client i have left untouched,
and i happy to announce that my SQL aliases are kept on the server.
