Why does the Update Model From Database wizard in Visual Studio 2010 Professional stop responding?

Question

The Update Model From Database wizard stops responding after a few seconds when I try to add a database table.  It will allow me to use the wizard to add database views without any problems.  It only hangs up when adding a new table.  I currently have 5 views and need to add a small table (9 columns, 273 rows).  I've tried deleting/re-creating the .edmx and I've tried doing a Repair of VS2010.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

I cannot reproduce your problem. Could you please let me know how long it hanged? Or any error message occurred in the end?

I recommend you try to uninstall all the extensions you have installed first. Then create a new project to check if this problem still exists or not. If this problem still appears, I recommend you submit this issue to Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/visualstudio

I stopped timing how long Visual Studio hangs after 35 minutes.  I ended up having to close the window and telling Visual Studio to restart.

I tried your suggestion of uninstalling my extensions (I only had NuGet installed) and re-installing.  Same outcome.  I also tried creating a new project and adding a database table.  Same outcome.  I will submit an issue to Microsoft Connect.
