Technet Search produces no KB results
Technet Search produces no KB results
- After loading June Technet when I do a search with no filter the only results I get is "Technet View Help". In the past I would get results from the KB.

I checked with the team that publishes the TechNet Library and they said this bug is known for July and has been fixed in August TechNet (Offline) Library.
Thanks

- I'm seeing exactly the same problem with the June Technet. Did the normal network install from the US_DVD folder on the DVD using netcopy and then a minimal install to my workstation. Search seems completely knackered for all search topics - eg I can find KB article 822828 by drilling down through the contents, but if I search for 822828 with no filters, there are zero search results. Same for any search using any word whatsoever.
- I installed June 2009 on another workstation with the same results. On both workstations if I select a Windows 2003 server topic under Products and Technologies/Windows 2003 Server I recieve a message "Help" Please insert the dis labeled " Technet Library English DVD (Juen2009) Disk 1 Install location "D:\program files\Technet\2009Jun\winnetsv.Hxs" If I browse to the location the file is their but if I select the ok button on the help message I recieve a repeat of the same help message
- Same here, even uninstalled the local Technet and installed it to my sbs2003 server with ALL components loaded.
I noticed that if you expand out the contents all the articles are there, even all the KnowledgeBase articles, but if you go to the HELP - EDIT FILTERS and check the default results for the KnowledgeBase where the doc type has to match kbKB ("DocSet"="kbKB") it returns 0 matches so no wonder nothing shows up in a search!!!
If you do the same for another filter like "everything in 2000" you get 498 results, so it's something stuffed up in the June 2009 index that MS needs to fix...
Not a resolution I know but it may help get this fixed - what a pain in the .... I checked with the team that publishes the TechNet Library and they said this bug is known for July and has been fixed in August TechNet (Offline) Library.
Thanks
